COMING SOON: The Solopreneur Cafe!

Solopreneur Cafe

Announcement time!

In a few weeks, I’ll be launching The Solopreneur Cafe (not linked because the site is under development for a few more days) – a comfortable, virtual place to find guidance through the personal finance pitfalls that come with working for yourself, whether you’re a freelancer or a side hustler. I’ve always been focused on smoothing out the bumps of unpredictable income while meeting your individual money goals, and this is a natural next step.

Why not “Gig Boss Cafe”? Because honestly, I’m not a bossy type at all, I’m just that smart (and occasionally smartass) person in your life who knows an awful lot about this stuff, and I keep my thumb on the pulse. I’m someone you’d treat to lunch or coffee to pick her brain, and find yourself realizing there are always nuggets of gold in those conversations. I promise you, membership will actually cost about the price of lunch and a coffee – and no, not at the kind of place where caviar (ew!) is on the menu!

What Is On The Menu At The Solopreneur Cafe?

In early July, you’ll start seeing weekly shortie podcasts from me, like 10 minutes, on all things related to solopreneurship and personal finance. These will be available through the usual podcast apps, it’s not exclusive to members. But then later that week we will have a Zoom “Lappy Hour” with lots of discussion and Q&A about that topic, and if there’s time, anything else on your minds – and that’s just for us members.

Then every month there will be a money-related challenge, lasting anywhere from 5 days to the whole month, with prizes…yup, the kind that come in the mail (to US and possibly Canada only). After all, what good is a money game without a prize? Participation won’t be required, but you’ll be missing out on the fun! And did I mention the prizes??

I’m also working on “pretty spreadsheets” and printables, to accommodate different budget tracking styles, but they’re all directed towards the typical solopreneur who wants to spend more time doing what they love and minimizing time spend on admin.

Once we hit a certain membership threshold and there’s sufficient interest, there will be a book club for anyone who wants a little more exposure to and discussion of personal finance topics beyond our happy Lappy* Hour. We will pick books that don’t feel like homework, I promise!

All of this will be run through a private Facebook group. I love a good, active group and will be in there throughout the day because… well… I’m not a big fan of FB for personal stuff, but I love a good group with responsive group hosts. And I don’t think you should have to wait until Lappy Hour to get my input.

I’m open to adding more facets to this membership as time goes on and your needs reveal themselves, I’m good like that.

Solopreneurs Don’t Need To Be So “Solo” With Their Money

I know what it’s like to feel that ‘solo’ in solopreneur, and there is no reason in this day and age to go it alone. Our personal finance needs don’t align with most of the systems out there (I’m looking at you, 50-20-30 Budget Rule), which are designed for those with a regular paycheck. And if you’re like most Americans, you got zero financial literacy in school, at any education level. So whether you’re paying off student loans or feeling the pressure to get retirement savings in order, and everything in between…the Solopreneur Cafe will have your back.

Interested? Then get on my mailing list by filling in the form below, and you’ll be the first to get a Founding Member’s offer! Not sure if it’s your ‘thing’? Sign up anyway and you’ll get notifications about podcasts, blog posts, events and other free stuff I offer.
